I wanna know how people can keep tanks stocked up with aggressive American cichlids EX. Texas, Midas, flowerhorn. I've seen a couple people with some tanks stocked full that say they have little problems. When I add a fish to my 55 my Midas always tries to kill. How do I get my fish to mind there own business.? Maybe take out the hiding spots and stock up the 55 gallon with fish and hope they don't all maul each other to death . (The pic is an example of a tank filled)

Okay first of all its overstocked in a 55 gallon on a single Texas or Flowerhorn is too small. I keep monsters 10-12 inch Texas, Flowerhorn and a 16 inch midas in one tank but it was a 200 gallon tank.

You need more tank space that's about it. Cramming these fish that can get more than a foot long isn't s wise choice. All of them are crazy fish I know I have all of them.

Midas are insane it's just not your fish they're very aggressive mine killed and wiped out my whole tank when breeding many years ago.

Im no pro but here i go... #1 grow them up together, #2 overstock #3 add dither fish, #4 hiding spaces/plants, #5 know ur species/sexing and choose carefully, #6 remove bullies. Some fish are hatefull and will never get along with others.

Yeah a 55g is too small of a tank to be doing this with when it comes to big new world cichlids. With my crew I have growin up together there are no midas, theyre too crazy usually. And u need more than a few aggressive fish in a tank together or they will focus on each other, and one will get beat. But don't overstock much either, need a happy medium. That pic looks way overstocked. Good luck keeping the nitrates down if they don't pick each other apart.

Your tank is barely suitable for just one of those fish full grown let alone all those fish. There lies your problem...Solution is cut back to one or 2 fish or buy a bigger tank if you want to keep that many cichlids. No other way around it as a 55 gallon is barely big enough for most cichlids other then the dwarf ones.

I only have 2, 6" fish in mine, now I know it will be a pain to add. One persons told me if they don't have any areas to claim they won't fight. I'll post some pics of my tanks and updates of what I'll do. Thanks for all the info guys

Yes but it's too small. Yes they can live in there but you can live in a closet as well. Wouldn't like that I bet. In reality with the amount of fish in that tank I would get at least a 200 gallon tank.

The midas will win in that group hands down.

Oh okay didn't know that. Yeah more often than not us fish keepers tend to overstock our fish lol
