help its driving me mad:cry:whats the secret to a silent running tank.i have a 300ltr tank with sump and skimmer(v2)i have filled the weir with bio balls to create a trickle tower. How can i keep the noise to a minimum,,,some one must have the answer:)

the secret is earmuffs....

do a search for dorso stand pipes on here and either submerge the water exit in the sump or place some filter floss just below where the pipe empties into the sump.

I concur. If something is making unwanted noise in my tank its usually water flow thats splashing. I would just submerge the pipe or lean it up against a side so it flows in, instead of splashing around. If its a pump just rattling put a towel under it and it will absorb the vibrations.

yeah, i hate the sound of running water as well. Very annoying. I get used to it and never even notice it but when all the pumps and what not are shut off, its about 20 Decibles quieter lol.
