whats this on my umbee X please help!!

hi can someone tell me what this is? started off with a worm or parasite looking thing and now its an open wound with white fungus. what can i do to treat this? he is now in my hospital tank with 50% water change and some melafix. please help.IMG_20130415_184213_476 (1).jpg

Ohh wow treat it as fast as you can. It was too late for my flowerhorn when it had the same thing. Use melafix. Good luck. Keep asking questions on here though because I'm not sure what it really is

Aeromonas needs strong antibotics.
 
I had the same thing on one of my umbees last year. I used API general cure for 3 treatments and then went to API furan2 for another 3 treatments to battle secondary infection. Follow instructions on the box carefully. I was able to save the fish with this combo. Hope this helps and good luck.

i used epsom salt to treat my flowerhorns constipation. you can try to use the epsom salt but i do not know if it is going to work.
