I noticed this spot today, and it's never been there before that I can recall. The fish is doing fine, and dosen't seem to have any ill effects. What is it? It's the one on the right on the top of it's body.

BTW they are about 6 months old, and are maintained very well. They are only fed feeders about once every 2 months, and the rest of the time they eat pellets, shrimp, beefheart, bloodworms, and my finger occasionally.

The whitish stuff on his dorsal fin?

Could be anything.

At the worst fungus or something like that, but likely scarring, or just discoloration. Watch it and if it doesn't spread or start to look worse don't worry about it.

try some salt and melafix, looks like it may have come from feeding goldfish. You are talking about the mark on his nose right?maybe another fish bit him?

Looks like your O's got into a dispute. It'll heal up just fine in a week or so.

Agreed...just watch for spreading, but I bet it's nothing.

This is what I think too. Every once and a while my O will squable with my Jardini and he gets a few dings like that...I wouldn't worry too much.

probably from fighting looks like a scrap you could salt the tank and this will help in healing. Mine get that sometimes running into wood or a rock or from other fish.

Aquarium salt, 1 tbsp/5gallon.
