Catfish ID req please. It's about 30". Couldn't get photo of caudal area.

Not 100% sure but I think its a Walking Catfish If it is does yours try to jump out of the tank alot ?

I agree with Clarias but what type? It's not one of mine I saw it in an aquarium in Palma de Mallorca but nobody could tell me what it was.

Its not a Claria batrachus (Walking Catfish) it is some kind of clarias though just not sure what kind.
There are hundreds of lookalike clarias in the world so i would not even try to find the species.

By the way Walking Catfish doesnt grow to 30" it can grow to 23" in the nature but usually doesnt grow much over 15" in hometanks.

Clarius gariepinus would be my guess due to the size and color.

There isn't even near a hundred clarius species. Only about a dozen, most of which are distinctly different

Well, i guess there's more if you count all of clarridae, in which case there's several dozen, but still, the species can be identified if you really want.

Could be a Heterobranchus longifilis too i suppose.

Heterobranchus sp i'd say need to see adipose and dorsal really but flat head screams heterobranchus probably longifillis.
