Just walked outside my house to find this guy on my porch. He very tiny so pics are hard to shoot.

looks like a baby newt just getting out of its tadpole phase, maybe a fire bellie newt.

It's not a newt. It looks like some type of salamander from the family Plethodontidae which are the Lungless salamanders.

newts are not that long and skinny

we have those here in central cali, they are a salamander. here in madera cali, they are called the madera county slender salamander. the one you have there looks full grown.
