Hi, I'm completely new to aquariums. I've always wanted one but didn't have the room. I'm closing on a new house end of this month. The house has a very large opening that the previous owner had an aquarium. It has openings on both sides, one side to the foyer the other to the den. Its about 7' wide 3' deep and 3' high. Here are a couple of pics of the opening

I'm undecided on whether to go SW or FW. I would like SW but it's going to depend on my available funds since I'll need to furnish the house first.

I've got a friend of a friend who has an aquarium buisness at his home thats going to set me up so once I close on the house I'll be ready.

Welcome to MFK, Thats a beautiful spot for a tank, and whether you decide to go sw or fw they both are worth the effort. it all depends on the type of fish you want :) looks like grade A cichlid real estate to me tho.

Do you know what size tank the previous owner had there? Just curious..

No, I don't know the size. The house is a foreclosure/bank owned. Maybe around 300+gallons?
