whats up with all the petitions

just looked online and people have started petitions to suceed from the government whats up with that? this isnt political debate just wondering whats going on.

seem like there is just a minor percent in those state population that want to be independent. i personally like that idea, that in each state with those people who want to isolate themselves not the state itself as a whole, to give them a piece of the land and let them run free as long as they don't cross the border or influence the others. let these people who want to be isolate created their own government, currency, and whatnot.
