Whats up with her gills?

This is my wild caught female festae. She grew larger and it almost seems as though her head shrunk or didnt grow with the rest of her body, leaving an area under her gills exposed. I noticed it after her first batch of fry. She has no other issues and its been this way for a few months now. In the pics you can see the white area under the gills. Is this a problem? Has anyone seen this before?

once every 2 weeks. but I check My N's before the water changes and the ppm's are safe. Most of the time. The male lives in the same water, no problems. Still if it is that, can it be fixed?

Youre laughing bro, but I had a patient who cut his off with scissors! no lies! They sutured it back on.
But what do I do about my festae? are her gils screwed for life?

in my experience with gill curl is to have clean water and it comes back a bit but I have never seen it heal fully but thats just me.
