he used to be colored like my female then about the time they started cleaning off a spawning rock he changed...i like this new color, but i just want to be sure it is ok...is this just its spawning colors?

yep its the male he is like half the size of the female...she remained orange and he turned black...it has been this way for over a week or 2...the only other difference is in agresstion...they are much much more agressive now...they were attacking my hand every time i put it in the tank...

The aggresstion is noraml, just them trying to protect their "territory" so they can spawn. Do you have any interest in attempting to raise their spawn? Because if you do now is the time to get the equiptment set up and get the supplies/food needed. As once they hatch you wont have anytime to do it haha.
