Is he being beaten up or is this something else? He just noticed him looking like this yesterday when I got home from work. He wasn't as active last night as he usually is. He and my other rope are normally constantly cruising the tank. This morning his swimming pattern was all whacked out. He looked drunk. I've never seen any aggression between him or any of the others in the tank so I'm not sure whats going on. He's in with 3 sens 5-7", a 5" polli and a 4" del. He is about 10" long and my other rope is probably 12". The other rope is fine. Here is a pic of him.

could be a skin infection or fungus of some sort, or it might be battle scars. either way treat the tank with some aquarium salt and wait for somebody else's opinion on it.

Yeah I kicked up the heat a bit last night and added salt thinking maybe he'd been fighting but the tank is usually so peacefully unless you're a feeder. The sens get a bit rough during feeding but thats about it.

Is he in with any kind of pleco or synodontis?

No pleco. There was a small 4" columbia catfish in there but he's out now. I don't think he was the sucking type. Also I didn't notice these marks until after the cat was gone.

Just to be on the safe side, I'd definitely quarantine him. Better to lose one than lose all if its infectious. Looks just like my senegal did when the pleco got after him one night. Is there anything he could have gotten caught in that would have removed the slime coat? Maybe a filter tube or small ornament?

is that what it looks like whent he slime coat is removed? well they are always squirming under drift wood and i thought that may have scraped him up a bit. the tubes wouldn't harm him i don't think. maybe it was the driftwood removing his coat but would that cause eratic swimming?

Oh, i almost forgot i have two hujeta gars in there! those dudes are about 5" long and always up top.
