Right now I love my Geophagus Altifrons.
Hes in a 120G tank with a Retic Ray, and some other Geos and a few NTT.
This Geo is just over 4 inches
It loves to sift thru my sandbed, and grows awesome looking streamers on its fins when it grows old..

i dont keep fish anymore, but ive had quite a few cichlids over the years that were my most prized at one point or another. heres a couple of my favorites.
my old female trimac. the pic colors are a little off, and the pic is older than hell. the trimac was 10.5" when it died, ive never seen a female cichlid with nicer fins than this one
. never could find a male big enough to spawn it with. this was my first CA cichlid. ive had larger trimacs (i had another female that got to 11" and a large pair as well) but this one was by far my favorite.
the midas was 12"+ when i sold it. i was going to show this one at ACA this year but i had to get rid of it. this one had an awsome personality (but then again, what midas doesnt?)
the motaguense was 12" when it died. 'gold' lines, not 'red tiger'. one of the bigger ones ive seen. got along well with all my other fish.
for the most part, these cichlids lived alone or with a smaller female (excluding the trimac).
the mota and midas did live in my 600g for a while, but were removed at 6" and 8"...i try to keep my fish perfect, which is hard to do in a community setting with other CA cichlids, even in a tank that big.

thats ok just show as many fav CAs/SAs as u can and explain like the care they need and all infos u guys have of them
My salvini is my most prized cichlid. I thought he was a she but turned out to be a male because the dot on the dorsal fin diminished. He is about 5 inches now. Hes in a 40 gallon for now with a con and a FM. His name is Zakk after Zakk Wylde. I named him that because hes one mean muther#%&. Although hes kinda shy. Hes not all that hard to take care of at all. He bites alot when i try to feed him or clean the tank. He digs constantly and rips everything up in the tank. My second favorite has to be my con. Hes so peaceful and doesn't mess with anything and he sleeps at the end of the tank where my bed is.

'Roughy' my Geophagus 'Rio Tapajos', looking hotter than ever and I think he may have successfully stolen Beanie (the female) from Oliver (the sub dominant male), so his colours have gone through the roof! :shock:
He's flaring in this pic at Oliver, his arch enemy! Ha ha ha! :lol:
This pic is just to show off some ove the vibrant colours in his fins and those pretty trailers which are growing nicely! :thumb:
