Whats with fish pajamas

How come whever my pbass sleeps he puts his stress dress on. I know hes not stressed b/c the moment he wakes up hes back to normal. He gets like black stripes on his back. And my gar turns a pale green with no spots when he sleeps. Finally my LMB flares his dorsal and makes his eyes super black and gets like more vivid spots.

MY hypothesis was that its a form of camoflauge for there native waters. So when they are sleeping they arent so vulnerable.

Its like camaflage, i also protects them from parasites while they are not moving

yeah i noticed that one of my angels are constantly changing colors, theyre seemed to be fine tho, so im glad its not anything bad.

My Geophagus put their sleeper colors on when the lights go out too.

my florida gar turns a very dull silver when the lights go out. hes normaly mostly black.
