long beach
this white spot has been here for about a week and a half now ive been salting the tank.. i started salting the tank about a week or so ago when my female burnt herself the first day i added 3lbs with a 50% WC then on the second day a 50% WC and added 1.5lbs salt with it ALONG WITH PRIME.. the temp has been between 82.5- 84.5'f..

his stinger has been looking like its going to shed for about the last month or so (well the other one has been growing in under the old one) but now the NEW ONE is just as long as the OLD ONE and the old one looks like the skin on top is wearing away and creating this white spot!:nilly::nilly:

out of all the pics i took this is the best i can get with my phone

i wounder if the white sport is the stinger without the sheeth on it...

I was wondering the same thing as one of my rays did the same thing and the sheath was uncovered throughout the entire stinger. It recently fell off, without a visible additional stinger growing in so it looks like my ray doesn't have a stinger at all now. You sure its not just the stinger?

i dont know what it is to me it kind of looks like as if the stinger underneath is pushing the top one up and the base of the top one is putting so much pressure on the skin but then its white like this right at the stingers base... i thought maybe this is what it is suppose to do but not sure as this will be the first time i seen a stinger shedding.

it does not seem to be getting worse but the salt and warmer water does not seem to be helping it go away!!

you know the stinger is actually white right? like a bone, and the black is the "poison" To me it looks like its just the stinger (bone) about to fall off
