Got 2 clown loaches from Petsmart about a week ago.. One is doing magnificently and constantly active, while the other one barely moves and is always "sleeping" as i call it.

I cant seem to find anything physically wrong with him, but was wondering if you could. I would like to get him better, but he looks like he is dying. I had to take out some convicts from my tank because they would peck at him and he would barely even move...... He even goes on his side since i bought him but after a week hes still alive.

Heres a video showing how lethargic he is, and it also shows how energetic the other one is..

What do you think is wrong with him, and how can i cure him...
Or should i just return him and get another one... their $10 you know!

P.S. I know the water is murky because this video was taken today, and i just put sand in my tank but hes been actin like this always

i think it's dead. it didn't move during the whole video. petsmarts' got that 14 day return policy, i say return it and get a new one.

Its not dead lol, as soon as i stick my hand in there he moves... hes actually in a different spot now and moving

Could it be an internal parasite? I usually keep my new arrivals in a quarantine tank for about a month before putting them in with the community, and feed them antibacterial and antiparasite food.

why go through all that trouble when he can just get a new one? :\

Idk i just feel bad for the fish...
First thing my cousin told me was to take it out of the water and let it die because petsmart wont take them unless their dead... I mean its $10 and i bought the fish like that but man, i just dont feel right doing it..

Your CL looks very thin. It has skinny disease that is caused by an internal parasite. Does the fish eat at all? Most of time when they are this far gone it can be hard to bring them back. Be aware that CLs are a schooling fish and should be kept in groups of about 7 or more. If you have a single CL they can become reclusive or aggressive.

There is a lot of good info in the Loach section.
