My firemouth pair just bred, and the fry have been free swimming for a couple days. I had put a barrier in the tank because the male was very aggresive towards my EBJD. Today, I noticed the male had a dark spot on his face and has been acting kind of lazy and didn't eat. This is the only spot on him so I don't think its ich, could it be a bruise from banging against the barrier?

Hard to tell from that picture but it doesn't look like a wound to me... can you post a better pic?

AAAA! It must have been a bruise because it already looks mostly healed, but now he went nuts! He is trying to kill the female, she already has nipped up fins and is hiding in the corner, not even defending her fry anymore. I'll try to add more cover to that side of the tank or something. If she dies, will he take care of the fry? He seems to be sticking by them now....

Or you could net her out and put her in a quarantine tank so she won't die. Or even putting her on the other side with the JD.

That's what I did, put her on the other side. But while I rearranged my tank my little barbs and baby geos crossed through the barrier and ate most of the fry. Don't think they were gonna survive without their mom anyways, being only a couple days old....I guess I'm going to get rid of this dysfunctional firemouth pair when/if she heals up.
