I previously posted this thread in the datnoid forum, perhaps further light can be shed in the disease forum.

My indo has in each eye, a solid WHITE ball, about 1-2mm dia. The ball is definately behind the outer lens, and literally on the pupil.

Is it cataract? doubt it... is it bacterial related, probably. Doubt its water reelated otherwise all other tigers would be affected.

The pic is a bit blurry, but you get the idea. The growth is very solid white, like calcium.

All input would be appreciated, similar cases :). I had the fish for 12 months. the white balls in the eyes have not changed as far as i can tell. The previous owner said its had this defect all its life.
I wouldnt say it swims like its blind.

Many thanks in advance.

Ade, my disagreement here is your point that all fish would have been affected similarly if it was water quality-related. Not all fish tolerate water conditions of various degree similarly. You have to realize some fish can tolerate it, some don't, no matter what species they are.

To answer your queries, it does look like cataract to me especially as you mentioned this is behind the outer lens. Cloudy eyes should have healed over time after a few weeks of consistent water conditions and normally coats the eye, not necessarily clouding it inside.
