What's wrong with my pleco?

That looks like a really nasty case of ich. What are the tank mates? If they're alright with salt I'd start adding it now.
 
I only have 1 jack left. Just so we are clear, you are not talking about table salt right?

How much salt should I add? I have a 55 gallon tank.
 
Damn I feel bad for the fish. Hope it doesn't die :( I just put nearly 1 cup of salt in the acquarium.
 
one cup of aquarium salt right? not table salt

you should also increase the tank temp-do a search on here on how to treat ick-there are hundreds of posts on it..
 
Bump the temp ASAP.
 
Bump the temp up to 88 degrees. Use 1 tablespoon per gallon. Wait three days and do a 50% water change. Treat again if neccesary. then slowly drop temp back to where you had it by 2 degrees per day. This should take care of it. USE ONLY AQUARIUM SALT!
