Whats wrong with my Synodontis eupterus?

Had him for about a year now.. This has been slowly getting worse and spreading for about 6 months now...
He gets nipped at pretty bad by my africans.. You can't see it in the picture but all of his fins are completely nipped away..
He still eats really well and has been really active until the past month now... He still eats but not as well, and I've noticed he's been very lethargic just laying around a lot lately.

Whats is this infection and how can I treat it?

in all the 6 months you never tired to treat it? looks like you should put it to pasture.

Wow, that syno does not look good. I would put him in another tank to treat him until he gets better

the only other tank i have on hand at the moment is a 20g high tank with 3 fancy gold fish and 2 cory cats and a diy background... theres really not a lot of room in the tank and the goldfish create a pretty hefty bioload

Hmm..do you have a large plastic bin/tote you could put him in with a heater, filter and bubbler? If not, you can pick up one for cheap...I think a 35 gallon plastic bin will cost only around $20
