I have a few.
1. peppermint angelfish: $30,000!
2. bonnet head shark: money, care, aquarium size, ext.
3. dwarf seahorse: I technically could, but then I couldn't go on vacation.
4. longhorn cowfish: money, tank size.
5. banded pipefish: Again, I could, but i couldn't go on vacation.
6. dwarf fuzzy lionfish: To aggressive.
7. Bird wrasse: Not reef safe.

Among freshwater I wish I could have: Pacu, Clown Knife, bichirs, lungfish, rays. Too difficult and/or dangerous to other fish and/or dangerous to me.

I'll probably try some of these in single specimen or single species tanks one day. Just a scaredy cat for now. :headshake

Giant snakehead or Asian arowana, both because the US government fails to listen to credible biologists. Giant snakeheads are no threat to environment father than very southern Florida due to temperature tolerances and Asian arowanas are now captive bred and protected in their native habitats.

Yet they allow other species that clearly are not viable for the pet trade. Logic is clearly absent from the law.

1 dwarf snakeheads (illegal)
2 Indian shovelnose catfish (tank size)
3 piranha (illegal)
4 pimelodus ornatus (super rare)
5 asian arowana (illegal)
6 ARTC (tank size)
7 black devil catfish (tank size)
8 beani cichlid (very hard to keep)
9 ornate cichlid (super rare and expensive)
10 platinum odoe pike (super rare and expensive)
