What's your favorite food for your bichir????

Mine new poly just started taking feeders this morning and was curious if worms work? What's everyones favorite food for bichirs?

Weather loaches is the best food that I've feed my bichir but it's kinda expensive, but I keep feeding them anyway. I usually feed them weather loaches as they grow faster and prevent them from getting stunted. Once they reach their potentail max growth then I stop feeding them with wetaher loaches and try some other food.

I was able to grow my albino senegal bichir to 10" and most albino sene that I have in the past were only 7" maxed.

Mine are mostly fed market shrimp, although they eat pellets too. I would feed them mostly pellets, but there are some fish in the tank who will not eat pellets. So I feed shrimp pretty often.

From my experience, bichirs go crazy for nightcrawlers.

What exactly is market shrimp? I feed both my ornate and endli's beefheart, which seems to be like a booster for their size and growth........ I also throw in silver sides, bloodworms, and the occasional feeders, but feeders are prone to disease, so i stay away from them most of the time

Just shrimp from the grocery store. I buy raw, shelled, without tail and just cut it into smaller pieces after I thaw it. Most people use raw, but many content that cooked is just as good.
