There are plenty of gun owners and haters on here. So I got interested. Who out there has a good gun story? You know a story were a gun or guns has helped you. Any story will do as long as it demonstrates why guns can be good.

Ill start, when i first was born my parents were dirt poor(we lived in a trailor, that my grandparents owned and was on thier property). But thanks to our garden, my dads ability to hunt very very well and guns(guns are for hunting) my family was able to eat. If not for hunting and gardening i have no idea were i would be today.

So share your storys.
And please keep this clean. No arguing. If you dont have a story to add or a kind comment about a story, keep it to urself. No flaming no trolling and no arguing!! I would like this thread to show how good guns can be.

When I was 12 years old on Sept. 10 , 2000 .. I was cleaning guns with my grandfather in the shop. I took the .22 pistol out and asked him if it was loaded/unloaded as i couldn't tell. He said let me see it and I'll check. So I handed him the gun as just as I did , he bumped the trigger and the gun fired. It went through his hand and hit me in the stomach. I then was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. I was in and out of the hospital for weeks at a time for the next 6 months. I had 5 surgery's to repair my colon and such. I have several large scars on my stomach and my back now as aftermath. They said if i would of been hit a few inches over it would have killed me and hit several main parts to my insides.. now I have I.B.S and stomach issues all the time, but I am thankful to be alive and I own several guns of my own now and still love to shoot and what not. My grandfather had a heart attack while I was still in the hospital , he was just overly stressed about the situation with me . But he is going strong right now and works harder than I do , no joke lol. Gun safety is very important and I respect it a lot now. Hope this story fits in your thread..

Dang man, that is a horrible thing for a 12 year old to have to go through glad both you and your gramps are ok. :)

Also, anyone that does post a story that can be linked as an "encounter" should remember that whatever you put on the internet, stays on the internet. If it is still under investigation stay quiet so as not to jeopardise(sp?) your case.
