I just got it and the SOS prefilter and just wanted to know if any of you have used it or heard anything about it? It looks like it would be a nice one to use. It has four media baskets and a HUMONGOUS biowheel filter. I bought it used, and it was used on a saltwater tank (will this be a problem), so it's covered in deposits. I'm going to have to clean everything up, but I should have it up and running in a month or so.

The overflow works well however I am not a fan of their sump. You can get a whole lot more by using a DIY.

I have used the tide pool and was not very happy with it. It's not a great biological filter when compaired to a wet dry containing bio balls. It does not degass water as well as a wet dry. The "sump" is a cheap, flimsy, poorly made product. A heater will melt a hole in the bottom if it lays on it. If you put a protien skimmer in the sump, often times you wont be able to open the media drawers. The pre filter in the overflow box is a very poor design, lots of debris can get past it.

You can do much better for similar money.....
