I was just wondering what some people have their temps at.

Does what you keep your temps at depend on what your keeping?I spend alot of time in the aro section, and I see alot of people stating 86 degrees is the magic number...

Then I was looking in the fish disease and health section and I was reading an ICH thread where the guy was saying he was turning his heat up for the ICH but usualy he kept it at about 82 degrees and Repair was wondering why he kept it so high, stating that he usualy kept his tanks at 77-78 degrees.

I dont know if threads like this have been started but I searched for things like "good temp","perfect temperature", and even just "temp" and "temperature" but got very little.

I personaly keep my tank at 83- 84 degrees (literaly never drops below 83.0 or goes above 84.0) and my stocklist is

1 Jag
1 Red Bay Snook
1 JD
1 severum
1 BGK
1 CK
1 TT eel
1 TSN
1 leichardti arowana

does that seem fine?

I like mine at room temp - 60 to 75 When acclimated, fish do well under near-natural conditions with flucuating temps, works for me, at any rate.

With the more sensitive stuff, or on extra-cold nights (this does NOT include winter!!!) I have a heater on at around 76.

In winter, they stay nice and cozy warm in a dorm room at 76 also.

all my tanks (except native) are at 80

It depends on what you're keeping. A lot of fish when young need to be kept very warm such as Angelfish, Aros, and Pbass. I keep my tanks that have heaters at 78F just to keep the fish more active (CA/SA Cichlids). I use no heaters for my oscar and a goldfish tank. With temperature the problem is usually fast fluctuations instead of the temperature itself, I would say anywhere from 74-86F is ok for tropicals as long as it's stable.

86 on my large tank
