Apparently this fish in question has been sent off to bio security after being caught in a invasive pest removal competition and has been named as a pearl cichlid. I own adult saums/green terrors and it sure looks like a Juvenile.

Correct but that does not look like a pearl or geo

All the above share similar traits with the one below. I edited your photo to try and get a closer look.
Looks like A rivulets to me, but could be any with all the traits they share
