Im just wondering what people would considered their best 5 albums of the year? I ive bought a few albums lately and its not been an easy choice but id say
1. End Game - Megadeth - (A return to form, their last album (united abominations) which came out in 2007 belew me away and i thought that they couldnt top that but i was wrong. From beging to end a thrash metal record, arguabley their best since Rust in Peace)
2. Crash Love (Deluxe edition) - AFI - Well i believe that his is their 7th or 8th album now but ive just been listening to them since the 'Sing the sorrow' era really. But from beginning to end a fantastic album and to be honest theres only a couple of songs which im not that fussed on, theirs some pretty impressive guitar and bass work on here and some great vocal lines although not as diverse as 'decemberunderground' its still a solid record i would have liked it if davey had screamed some sections etc... the bonus disc is solid also and does have a song with some screaming which pleased me
3. Raditude - Weeser - Well ive been listening to weezer for probs going on 3 yrs now and have always liked their style and rivers geeky charm, their songs have a lot of feeling and meaning and some fairly cathcy beats. Its a solid album imo with a fair few solid hits and a few songs which have embraced other musical infuences.
4. Sonic Boom - Kiss - Not listened to this as much as i would have liked tbh but is very good, definately a return to form. Lots of catchy songs and riffs, sounds like good old Kiss this time with much less filler.
5. Nirvana 'Live at Reading' - Nirvana - A live CD of their Mindblowing 1992 concert, its fantastic all the songs you'd expect along with some early performances of songs from 'Inutero' and some good cover versions. Theres also a DVD of this which i hope to buy.
