How often do you guys move all the rock work in your tanks and clean underneath? I do this once a week and it is a pain in the A$#!!! Is it necessary to do it this often or what does everyone here do?

add a power head to your take.

I do mine once a month. My water test seem to be good doing it this way. What are you running for filteration?

I run 3 filters...2 AC 110's and a large sponge filter for about 1400 GPH plus a UV sterilizer. My water always test good, but I have never left the rockwork in place for more then a week without vacumming under it. Maybe , I should try not cleaning under it and see what happens with my water quality. Water quality now is not a problem...that is why I was wanting to see what everyone else does.

Try once a month and see what happens. Just be sure to check water quality right before you do the under the rock cleaning and go from their. GL

My water quality stays perfect and I hate to say it but the rocks stay put pretty much always. I don't recall the last time I moved them let alone cleaned under them. I do however have an ungodly amount of snails in each tank so I think that helps. I problem range near a thousand or more in most of them.

Ditto. not so many snails though.

What kind of snails do you guys have?

I have no idea what they are called. They have long pointed shells(the ones I have anyway). I didn't buy them, they were already established in the tanks when I bought them.

Interesting...and they help keep it clean huh?
