I was just wondering if anyone would be able to tell me when my aulonocara stuartgrantis will get their colour.

I guess it all depends. Most of mine start to color up around 1.5" and maybe a little earlier. I have a Blue Neon fully colored at 1.5"
depends on tank mates, tank size, water quality, food... the question is tough to answer. Some more information will help get some ideas.
Mike I agree with you. Lots of things make big differences.
My dominate males color quicker and the subdominates may never color completely. Depends on the aggression from the dominate fish.

At the moment I've got only got one in a 22L with 2 cyrtocara mooriis (only while I'm setting up my 166L then I'll have a full aulonocara tank). I do weekly water changes, feed them bloodworms and Colour enhancing flakes, keep the tank temperature at 27C or probably around 78F. The fish all get along well but the blue dolphins are a little more aggressive but the little aulonacara follows them around as if they were his parents and they all get the same amount of food. So yeah I hope this is enough info for you guys to tell me when my aulonocara will develop colour. Thanks
