When do bullheads mate in the wild

In PA I seem to net a TON of little tiny 1inchers during the summer (June-ish), thinking about bringing a couple home this season if I can find some spare place to set up a pond in the basement. They are so cute at that size and eat a ton...I've raised a few from that size till they could go in my friend's pond without getting eaten by the bass.
