Currently growing up a beautiful RD/Midas who's around 3.25". He feeds optimistically and is quite inquisitive. My question is; at what size do these guys snap and become aggressive, territorial, and intimidate people outside of the tank? I have never owned one before.

IME right around 5-6" is when my male midas started biting me and flaring at the glass.

yes,5-6 inches seems what i remember.my female i grew from a 2 incher, was never aggressive, but always checked things outside her tank.the male i added later was more typical.this is him at 11-12 inches.i think much of what they turn out to be has a few factors.the main thing is all fish have their own personality.

Each fish is different. I had a midas that I raised for three years, was 11" and never was a glass banger. He was raised in a community tank environment from day one and grew out in a 120g and eventually into a 210g. He was not the monster that many others have had to deal with.

mine just learned that if you dont bite the scrubby but the hand it makes the scrubby go away. i was cleaning but now i am bleeding. mean lil fish. didnt thank there where any teeth behind those lips but i was wrong and now it looks like i got a rugburn on my hand awesome -_-

and coolj i love your female has the devil eye as i call it.
