At approx. what size do fahakas begin to become aggressive. My 2"er could care less about the tetras or ghost shrimp in his tank. The tetras were intended as dithers and the shrimp as food but he pays no attention to them. Also, he seems to have come with ich (he was added after the tetras and shrimp cycled his tank for 2.5-3months), will it be ok to add some aquarium salt to his tank to clear it, I know puffers are more sensitive so I wanted to check first.

Depends on each puffer when they become aggressive... mine doesn't really care too much about the tank mates shes with (1 albino pleco and 1 yellow lab) as long as they don't get too near when feeding... although with that being said when i tried adding any new dither fish they all disappeared within about a week of adding them...

So really depends on the puffers personality and what they are willing to tolerate... plus at 2" your puffer most likely still doesn't know what exactly is food and what is not...

when they settle in imo... our lil' one was pretty shy.. until he/she figured out where the food comes from and that we're not gonna eat him/her... now "puff puff" as my husband named "her" chases him everytime he does a water change on the tank.. and is very curiouse about anything that gets dropped in. She got her first crayfish last week.. shouldn't say it was funny.. buut it was somewhat amsueing to watch her try and figure out what to do with it. BUt she figured it out and had a nice round tummy and sharp teeth by nights end. next time I doubt she'll have so much problem. ( she is crafty and won't rip up the clam shells, and she doesn't get enough snails to keep her beak trimmed down enough imo. the cray seems to make her have to use 'em.)

as peopel often relate them to puppies.. just liek a new puppy, once they settle in and get comfy... thats when they start exploreing. You'll not really know until then.

even as small as ours is yet.. about 4" i doubt she'd do well with tank-mates now. but yours may do fine with the fish already in the tank prior. some predetory fish can be odd like that.

Depends on the puffer. My puffer would only tolerate tank mates who can "fight back".

As for treating ich's. What I have done in the past was I used half dose of meds, salt, and raised the temperature to 85F. Used half dose because they have no scales. Worked all the time, but results may vary for others.
