Just curious, at what stage do they just mellow out a bit and come right up for food. Somedays my bass are super friendly and come right over to the feeding corner and swim out and about other days (most days) they just are SUPER jumpy and get freaked out very easy. Just my old lady walking by the tank or me approaching will send them in freak mode.:screwy: there about 4 inches now & hybrids.

Damn lol. I see all these videos of people feeding & whatnot. Following fingers waiting at the surface makes me a bit jealous! Mine dont know weather to come up to me or run for there lives. ha. There really gonna hate me next month when I have to net them out of there and move them :(

My 3" RA kels do this already. All about making them feel comfortable and having them associate your hand with food

Some days its all good but most there scared IDK the deal then. when they were younger I used to move the tank decor around quite a bit :( thats probably what scared them. THEY HATE me lol.

Here they are when they are actually feeling comfortable. ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1370736798.096897.jpg

No decor makes them less shy. I only have fake plants for the first couple of weeks on 2-3"ers then I remove it and it's bare bottom till they get big enough for my display tanks and they only have sand and one stump.

Well I do like the sand for my geos so once a week I'm gonna remove one piece of decor at a time until its all gone I think. I think decor just collects poop to be honest lol that's all I've noticed :). There main tank is gonna be a 240 with just sand and a piece of driftwood with java moss I have soaking and maybe a rock or two that's about it. Maybe a floating plant or two.

I know HaynChinook (Pete) keeps his juvie bass' lights on 24/7 to get them used to it. Apparently it works for him.

Myself as well.

Op you need to keep in mind, hungry fish = begging for food/social. Full fish = shy they don't give a F about you cuz they don't want anything from you. Kinda.like women
