I was wondering, about how long do the parents take care of each batch? Do they allow previous batches to hang around, when they are ready to mate again?
I'm guessing no. Anybody have any way to remove the fry, without taking everything out of the tank? Any advise would be appreciated.

Honestly just catch as many as you can. If they are small enuff you might be able to siphon them out into a bucket but sounds like they are free swimming. Try to take the next batch out right before they hit free swimming stage

Thanks. Its tough to get at the fry early on. They are in a tank with a lot of driftwood. The parents have done a great job of raising the fry so far

The best way to snag fry in a planted/decorated tank is with a long piece of rigid airline tubing connected to a piece of flexible air hose. Use it as a mini siphon, then stick the long piece of rigid tubing down into the driftwood/nooks/crannies where the fry are hiding. It'll suck them all up if they're small enough to fit through the tube. This is why it's best to do it when the fry are only a day or two past free-swimming.

I second this... best method. Most of the time the fish won't even realize the clear tube sucking up the cloud of fry. I tend to only take half because half the pleasure of spawning fish is seeing the parents raise their own young.

EDIT: I have also done this with rigid 1/2" tubing with good results. Just have to keep your catch bucket high enough to slow the flow a bit. It can be pretty powerful if there is a big drop
