This guy recommended to me that I should get the double threaded bulkheads for the holes on the tank that I have.

Why is it more useful to use double threaded bulkheads rather than single threaded?

Not too sure what you mean by double-threaded but, I think of a bulkhead as a semi-permenant part of the tank. Threaded means you can undo & redo anythign that connects to the bulkhead without having to destroy the bulkhead like you do with slip-fittings.

I use them for this reason. the outside thread secures the bulkhead to the tank, the inside thread is where I connect my strainer or DIY Stand Pipe. You could I suppose use slip connections for both but I like to have it secured in place without having to cement it .

I was gonna say "re-use-ability" but I see I am of no use now :(

Anyway, I'll just say that last year I had purchased a box of used thread x thread bulkheads for pennies on the dollar. I then purchased two new diamond drill bits for them. When I finally got around to putting them to use, I found out that my brother tossed the box in the trash :irked: He does stuff like that :(

Well, he isn't dead...yet. He was burping toe nails for a week though.

In related news, I had two soldering irons and two soldering guns. Tonight for our remodeling project we needed to solder some wires for a chandelier modification. Neither the irons or guns turned up after an extensive search...we had to go to Walmart at midnight to get another one :irked:
