I have three Kelberi gold peacock bass that I purchased from imperial tropicals in January the fish are about 2 1/2 to 3 inches now definitely growing at a nice pace. At this stage they are showing no gold coloring or gold specks /scales. At what size or age do these fish start to show more of a golden color on them. As of right now they look to be like basic peacock bass . Just curious to know at what point I can see this color change in them- food wise I am feeding them small massivore Pelkets and some krill.

had mine almost 3 years - think depending on variety , water quality, diet, and happiness

To many things play into what your asking but most wild kels would start showing signs of potential 8-12inches but Asian breed kels are completely different. I’ve seen them with crazy gold and pattern at 5inches and then I’ve seen some at 12inches with no pattern with horrible color.

Mine are 2-3” size -sold as gold Kerberi - look like a ocellatus -zero indication of any gold hues or specs -suppose they need to grow out for another 6 plus months
