chikiti china the chinese chicken
yesterday i was freaking out about me getting zapped while i tried to clean the walls of my tank. so while i was at work i called my brother to check on my cichla's. he said they were doing fine and that there was 7 still alive. i was like okay good. got a late notice that i have to stay overtime at work. while i was at work, i had a weird feeling that one of my cichla would die today. so after 5 hours of overtime. as i was going home 2am driving home from century city to san gabriel valley. there was construction all up the freeway. a car in front of me hits a cone. and the cone flew out, couldnt dodge the cone had to run it over. now i need a new bumper. got home, all i wanted to do was feed my cichla. i looked in the tank was counting all my fish to see if it was all there. and i see only 6, then i recounted again, because my water is green. then i look over to the side of my tank, and found this poor peacock temensis (yuki) dead.

Yuki was the name of this cichla. this cichla meant something to me. now will have to find a replacement for yuki

aaw man that really sucks!!!
i remember when i lost one of my old tems...
heart wrecking.
was it because of the electricity?
but i think most tanks have that current because of the pumps.
it is only grounded when you stick your hand in the tank and doesnt affect the fish from what i know.

Sorry to hear

i dont think it was from the electricity, in the thread i created about me be zapped, a person said that if could have been metal shavings naked to the eye on your finger causing you to get zapped. i think that was why i was getting zapped because i did work on my car prior to feeding them.

i think what really happen was, when i told my brother to check the tank he removed the lid of the tank, and probably left it open. thats when she probably jumped out while he was cleaning things around the area of the fish tank. i have an acrylic tank and the only opening possible is the 2 big openings for the light, other then that the 2 circles and the small rectangular opening is filled with stuff. i have a ac50 and surface extractor, output, and a regular input.
