When is a fish illegal?

Oh, forgot about those. A friend and I went to our spot one night to see if we could use a scoop net to catch some fish. We ended up picking up a 15" snakehead.
We put it in his pond, but it jumped out and died.

I think they might me a hybrid by the coloration and markings.

If you have a tank large enough to keep it when it reaches full size then just get it. Once its in the tank in your house, no one will know you have it. Its not like National Wildlife Marshalls are going door to door checking everyones houses for illegal animals.

not unless they read this forum! I also do skeletal articulation as a hobby, and I was on a forum site like this one for it and some guy got his house raided cause he was bragging about having illegal bird skeletons on there. Point is don't tell anyone on here about having anything questionable because if this site is ever investigated you don't want to be on the list of people to get their homes searched. It does happen and if there are too many illegal hits on this site trust me it will happen. The man in question was found with over 100 illegal taxidermy mounts and skeletal mounts he is serving 20 years in prison with a $350,000 fine. Good luck though.
