i like the look of a slightly over stocked tank. curently i have a 55g with 2 dempseys one 2 inch and one 6 inch, 3 severums 2 green and one red spotted gold all about 2-3 inches, one firemouth about 1.5 inches and one salvini about 2 inches. for filtration i have a AC 110 replaced the carbon for more biomax and a AC 50 with thesponge,carbon,biomax. my question is with my stock list do i need more biomax? can someone explaine to me how it works? like what the perks are forreplacing carbon with biomax? thanks.

Keep the money you use for biomax, and save up for a bigger tank. Biomax gets rid of ammonia and nitrite, but does it before it gets to your media. This is bad because when you replace your biomax, your media will not work very well since the biomax takes all of the medias "food."
