When is it safe to move my arowana?

My arowana is in a 50 growout to go into my 210 gallon (please do not give me crap about tank size i do my best...) and he is about 8 inches right now. In my 210 is my 16-18" clown knife and he has a reputation for taking down pretty much any fish he wants to. I also have read that arowanas can not tolerate lots of surface movement at young ages and i have lots of movement... So, what size do you guys think i should move him at?

What are the dimensions of the 50? I would say 10" is a safe size to move it so probably another month or 2. To my knowledge, aro's like calmer waters at all sizes
