I have a male mpimbwe frontosa that recently had the tale tale "white stringy poo". I imediately removed him and placed into my hospital tank. I have medicated alternately with clout and an anti bacterial meds for almost 3 weeks now. Fish has not shown any sign of problems since after the first week. No more stringy poo, no bloating, swimming around fine. Only it is not eating very well, which I think is due to stress of being in small hospital tank (20 gallons). Is it safe to go ahead and put him back in main tank???? Or should I continue meds/isolation a bit more even though no symptoms other than lack of appetite??

Does the hospital tank have any hiding places? What about the lighting? Temperature?

I wouldn't be too sure yet. If it's not eating, it may be the reason why you don't see white poop anymore.
