I read that the rainy season is close to or is over in south/central America, so I'm assuming its a better time to collect fish when the water subsides. Is this when we can expect to get some of the larger wild specimens such as festae, from south america? How much does this effect the hobby, and what goodies can you expect to find at certain times of the year? Do certain species become more readily available at certain times of the year? Please explain I'm sure lots would be interested to know!

Fish generally breed in the spring. Your best bet for collection...and it depends on the country...February & March.

ah, excellent. So during breeding season is when wild fry is collected? Also breeding pairs are collected as well? good info thanks for sharing
