I came out to feed my wet friends this morning, I saw something on the floor. Knowing that I just spent several hours cleaning and rearranging near the tanks, my first thought was right!
I saw my littlest birchir, a 'gold dust' Palmas , he was jerky.
I scooped the little guy up and put him in water to see if there was a chance. Nope he was gone, he leaped out of my highest tank, a good 7' drop to concrete, and since I had JUST did my weekly water change, the water was a bit higher than I normally keep it. I also removed a couple of fish from that tank too, so it was FINALLY coming out of hiding and swimming with my Del in the same tank. All of these events ended in a fish taking a flying leap out of the tank. Covered but not very securely...DAMN!
That brings the count down to 4...
Senegal- 8.5-9"
Albino short morph- 6"
Palmas Palmas- 7.5"
Delhezi- 6"
I think this is a sign that I need to downsize my collection.
