When measuring a fishes length???

Do you measure nose to the end of the tail or nose to the end of its body??

Theirs TL and SL
Total length
Standard length

TL = tip of nose to tip of caudal fin
SL = tip of nose to the area where the caudal fin starts.

Most fishkeepers use TL
Most scientists and professionals and biologists use SL

I always go total length, same as I do when fishing and there is a minimum size for a keeper.

You can do either. Its whatever you prefer.

Also if you have a catfish or fish with streamers or really long whiskers you dont count those.

Cool...I was just wondering, I have a few tanks with fish im tryin to breed...had them all since they were small, 1 tank im already successful in...thanks for all the info
