When should I get my male?

Hi,
I have a 7" female motoro and I want to breed her. I know she's too small, but since it's hard to find large males, should I get a male of the same size or a little smaller now and grow them together?

smaller is better for the female so she can fight him off more easily and cause less damage to the female when the male is trying to get some.

I would say get him now, then you can grow them out together.. Maybe grab another female while your at it so he doesn't harass the heck out of the one female when they get bigger.
