Right now I have a 30 gallon with
4" bichir
2" peacock bass
and I'm about to pick up a 3" african pike for it tomorrow.

How fast should I expect these 3 fish to grow? I'm already planning to pick up a new 150+ gallon tank for them but will I have to go bigger?

I would wait until the smallest of your fish is at least 6 to 8 inches. If you chuck them in a 150 now it'll be harder to feed them.

Heres the pick of the tank, can you see the bichir and the pbass? I have a h.o.t. magnum on it and I do 50% water changes weekly. How fast should I expect them to get 8"?

BTW, my pbass were like 3" when I added them to my 120g. No problems. If anything, you'll see more natural behavior since they have TONS of room to roam. The bicher may have a tough time finding food, but they are very persistant. I'd honestly get the tank now.

If you're buying a new tank, why not get a 8 footer? Like a 240 or something. You could then have more fish. Be honest, you'll want one eventually anyway. :grinyes:

give them about 3 months then throw them in the 150, id say a 120 is the minimum tank size, i would keep the picher in the thirty until he alot bigger since they find food by smell its gonna be hard for him to get food in the 150, on the other hand your fish will grow faster in the big tank

if at all possible go as big as you can with your new tank. I thought my 135 was big but now I wish I had gotten somthing bigger and I dont even have fish in it yet (its cycling).
