I have some convicts that have bred and they have been growing for at least 2 weeks. When do you think its a good time to separate them

I separate after a week so they'll pawn again quickly. Convicts make good parents though and if your not wanting them to spawn again soon leave the fry in with them till their about 1/2" then remove, becuz if you don't the female will usually start to kill them so she can spawn again IME.

are there any other fish in the tank other then the parents and how big is the tank?

I've heard various things on this. Some people think you should do it after a week or two, others feel it should be done after they are about 1/4" in size or bigger.

It depends . Like they said above it depends weather you want them to spawn again sooner or later if you remove them they will spawn again in a week or two but if not leave em till they are 1/2 an inch

Yea like the others have said it really depends on when you want the parents to spawn again. My con pair has spawned 6 times and 5 of the times I removed the fry after 2 weeks of them being free swimmers to use as feeders for my tiger barbs, and once I let the fry in to see how long they would last. In that case, the parents didn't spawn again until their fry were about an inch long or so.
