So now that my algae issue has calmed down and under control, I want to know when would it be safe to start adding additional fish? I had the damsel in the tank since the 12th (I returned him last saturday for aggressivness) and I've had my ocallarius since the 18th.

I also heard to be careful adding other clowns to the tank and to only add similar species or else they can get aggressive. True? Does this apply to other fish too or just clowns?

*i mean will my ocellarius be aggressive to other fish or just other clownfish

You have only had the clown 4 days!!! Enjoy it for another week or two at least. Make sure your algae situation doesn't resurface as you increase light before adding more fish(more food and waste will just compound the problem.).

The ocellaris can be aggressive to all other fish, but usually it is pretty mild. I would not be too concerned here.

I would NOT however add any other clownfish. One of them would then beat up the other most likely. No matter what species of clown it is.

Look instead to get a goby, blenny, cardinal, small wrasse, chromis, etc. for your next fish.

I wasn't planning on getting one tomorow lol... Just wanted an idea for a time reference so I could plan... I really want a flame angel. Compatible?

The clown aggression story is a long complicated one.

Too skip the biology lesson, we will jump to the chase. With your species of clown, as long as you get one that is either considerably larger, or considerably smaller, you should be good.

Ha just making sure. We all get antsy...

Flesh is right, but still depends on the species.

The flame is compatible I think, they can get pretty aggressive too though.

I assume to create dominance so there is no fighting?

Cause the wife wants an orange one to go with the black and white ine we have now...

Yes hopefully.

But if they both want dominance it doesn't work out so well. This goes for both other clowns and angels.

They fight to force one into submission that then changes sex.

Some clowns do this once in their lives, others can do it multiple times.
