So I've got a Spotted Hi-fin pleco in my son's 29tall... at what size is he really too big for that tank? I've told my son all along that when he gets too big, he gets moved to my 75g tank, so my son doesn't get any surprises.
Just not sure how bug is too big for the tank he's in... right now, the pleco is probably pushing 4+" tail and all...

I would say they're are many factors determining how long he can stay in that tank. Depends on how often you do water changes, filtration, and what other fish are in the tank. Without knowing any of that info, I'd say 6" would be a good time to start thinking about re-homing it.

Well the tank is a 29tall, running two AquaClear 50s, planted. Stock Is as follows (off the top of my head, just recovering from an pick outbreak and lost some)
5 gold barbs
6 neon tetras
1 black neon tetra
1 cherry barb
2 hatchetfish
1 Bolivian ram
1 gold ram
2 bamboo shrimp
6 otocinclus cats
1 farlowella cat
20+ shrimp (ghost and amano)
And the pleco.

Thinking when I move him out, moving a small albino bristlenose in, I like them, and the one I had didn't make it in my cichlid tank...

Yea, i moved mine out of my 20 when he was about 6", but that was a lightly stocked tank,
(adult angel, adult pic. Catfish and corrys)

I actually moved them all to the bigger tank

But i would guess a little smaller if it was a heavier stocked tank, or a more decorated tank .

So I'm guessing a few more months and he'll have to be relocated... Shouldn't be too bad, depending on how much he doesn't want to be caught... but at 5-6", he'll be 3 times the size my albino bristlenose was, so he should make it ok in the bigger tank. And my L066 in the large tank is only about 3", so the spotted will hopefully be fine...

Any compatibility problems in a 75g with an L066 pleco, the Spotted Hi-Fin pleco, and a (roughly) 5" featherfin synodontis?
