Okay I have an awesome pair of convicts that have been raising about 40 fry in a 20 gallon for a week or two now. This is their first spawn and I'm super pleased with them.

But at what point will the parents get tired of them and eat them? And who should I move out of the tank? The fry will eventually be sold to my LFS but in the mean time should I move them into a ten gallon or should I move the parents?

i separate the male for 2 weeks after the first 1 to 2 weeks of babies. then swap out babies and return the male. seems to work ok.

when i used to breed fish i would syphon the free swimming fry into a bucket then transfer them into a 10g then raise the fry in there. make sure to watch the pair as one may kill the other thinking the other ate the fry. if they dont kill eachother then they might spwan again..GL
