Hello -- I just tore down my QT tank, bought one fish a few weeks later, plopped him in, and low and behold I see a single white spot on him. I've had Ich before and I'm positive the spot is Ich. No one else in the tank has any spots yet. I've already begun raising the temperature and I've got a bottle of Ich Attack. My question is, is it too early to begin treating? I know that Ich is only treatable in the stage where it has fallen off and begins free swimming, and it has only been two days since I've got the fish.

So basically I just want to know if I should begin treating now as a precaution or wait until I've raised the temp for a few days and feel the parasites are free swimming?

And PS, I have read the Ich sticky, all 27 pages, but I'm just wanting to make sure there is no such thing as too early. Thank you.

I say no. two months ago I saw a spot. Did nothing, have not seen a spot since.
